Fastest African woman in 100m hurdle qualify for World Indoor Championships

 

 

Tobi Amusan, who is the fastest woman in Africa for both 100m and 100m hurdles and the world 100m hurdle champion has secured her qualification ticket for the 2024 World Indoor Championship which is scheduled to be hosted in Glasgow, Scotland.

 

Tobi Amusan who missed out in the 2023 outdoor circuit confirmed her qualification after her performance at the recent Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville, Florida running a time of 12.59secs in the 100m hurdles which was well under the 12.80secs outdoor entry standard set for the event.

 

Amusan who is also the World 100m hurdle record holder with a time of 12.12secs would be featuring in the next year’s event along with Rosemary Chukwuma, Favour Ofili, Favour Ashe and Ezekiel Nathaniel who are the other four Nigerian athletes to have qualified while more Nigerian athletes are expected to secure their tickets with qualification until February 2024.
