Ex-Manchester United defender goes bankrupt.

Former Manchester United defender, Wes Brown has been declared bankrupt at the High court after a petition from the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

The 43-year old former Manchester United player who was a member of the treble winning team in 1999 came through the academy ranks at Manchester before making his debut for the team and was a member of the first team for about 15-years. He went on to make 362 appearances for Manchester United winning five Premier League titles, two FA cups, two League cups and two champions league titles. Brown was also capped 23 times for England’s national team and had club career spells at Sunderland and Blackburn after leaving Manchester in 2011.

Wes Brown’s story after football seems a lot more controversial as this bankruptcy news comes about a year after his split from ex-wife Leanne who he got married to in 2009 and had three daughters from her.

Wes Brown is set to feature in a charity game for the remembrance of the victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing on the 7th of May 2023 at Oldham’s Boundary Park.
