Eid el-Kabir: FG Declares June 28, 29 Public Holidays

 

 

 

The federal government proclaimed the following days as holidays for Eid el-Kabir on Monday: Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29.

 

The declaration was made in a statement that was signed by Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the permanent secretary of the interior ministry.

 

the statement reads: â€œIn the spirit of this special occasion, during which we commemorate the great virtues of obedience, sacrifice and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibraheem (Peace of Allah be upon him), Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians, are enjoined to make sacrifices for the growth and development of our communities and our great country, Nigeria,” 

 

Akinlade expressed optimism that the nation will experience peace, unity, and growth as a result of the prayers and sacrifices associated with this important holiday.
