The Super Eagles of Nigeria took revenge on Guinea Bissau as they defeated them 1-0 at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau courtesy of a 30th minute penalty goal from Moses Simon.
Jose Peseiro’s men recorded their 3rd win in the AFCON qualifying series to regain top spot in Group A from 4 games while Guinea Bissau closely follow in second place with 7 points.
Nigeria still have to face Sierra Leone away from home on the 12th of June, 2023 and Sao Tome and Principe at home turf on the 4th of September, 2023 in their quest for qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations tournament which will be held between January to February 2024 in Ivory Coast.
