DON JAZZY WAS MY MENTOR AND HE WAS LIKE JESUS TO ME - DAVIDO.

During a session with “tayoainafilms,” Davido opened up about his journey in the music industry, shedding light on various pivotal moments that shaped his career. He began by recounting how he discovered his passion for music at a tender age. Davido's musical journey took off with his debut single, “Back When,” when he was 17, which showcased his talent and love for the art form.

As he delved deeper into his story, Davido shared how he ventured into vlogging and even picked up a camera to record himself. At the age of 19, he released the hit song “Dami Duro,” which catapulted him into the limelight. The young artist's dedication to music was evident as he discussed his proficiency in producing beats.

Davido attributed part of his success to his uncle, known as Specials, who worked with the renowned music crew “MoHits” led by D'banj. Specials played a pivotal role in introducing Davido to the group, and he caught the attention of the legendary producer Don Jazzy. Davido vividly recalled meeting Don Jazzy, describing it as a surreal experience akin to seeing Jesus.

Determined to make his mark, Davido continued to network and collaborate with various artists in the industry. He recounted meeting Shank, who had the biggest song at that time with “Julie.” Through hard work, perseverance, and self-improvement, Davido gradually rose to prominence, establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
