DOJA CAT MAY HAVE JUST RUINED HER CHANCES OF BEING INVITED TO THE NEXT MET GALA

Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, the American rapper, singer-songwriter professionally and widely known by her alias Doja Cat may have just ruined her shot at getting another invite to the famed Met Gala.

The fashion appreciation event which dates as far back as the 1940’s held it’s annual version this year on [Monday] May 1st, 2023 and witnessed a brood of industry creatives, fashion houses, music icons and the likes.

Doja effortlessly stole the night after showing up on the fashion’s biggest event looking like a real-life cat using special effects prosthetics.

However, the media is speculating that if statements made during a recent interview by Vogue’s editor-in-chief and the Met Gala host Anna Wintour hold true, Doja might not get a second invite and her first invite this year might likely be her last.

During a recent interview on On Monday, Anna Wintour and the Met Museum Costume Institute curator-in-charge Andrew Bolton sat down with CBS’ Gayle King for an interview about the must-attend event. They discussed what is known to be fashion’s biggest night and the inspiration behind this year’s theme; the controversial fashion icon Karl Largerfield.

As part of their sit-down, during the interview King asked the duo:

What’s the best way to be invited and what’s the best way to never be invited back again? What really ticks you off, Anna?

Smoking in the gallery,” Andrew interjected. “Touching the art.”

Smoking, yes,” Anna agreed.

Those would be no-nos,” Andrew added

The ”Say so” rapper was spotted vaping at multiple occasions during the event and as so there is news that her Met Gala card may get revoked.

Last month, the 27 year old rapper talked about her smoking addiction during an interview with Interview Magazine.

I haven’t smoked nicotine in like 10 weeks,” she told the publication. “And then Elle just came out with a shoot where I’m smoking a cigarette, but it was when I was smoking. They’ve had these photos in this interview for a thousand years, and now people are like, ‘Oh my God, she’s smoking again.’ But I don’t smoke. I’m nicotine-free.”

Considering the number of celebrities that have lost their invites over the years, it’ll be pretty obvious if Doja doesn’t attend next year’s Met that this might have something to do with it.
