Details of President Tinubu’s Meeting With Jonathan Revealed

The agenda of former president Goodluck Jonathan's meeting with President Bola Tinubu has been made public.

On Tuesday, the two men met inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Jonathan said to reporters that he met with Tinubu to inform him about the upcoming constitutional referendum in Mali.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) special envoy Jonathan is in charge of the mediation effort in Mali.

On June 18, the nation of West Africa will hold a vote on a new constitution. It will serve as a lead-up to the eagerly anticipated elections set for February 2024.

“I came to brief the president on the activities of some continental and subcontinental bodies. You know, I am the ECOWAS mediator for Mali and the chairman of the West African Elders Forum.

“So, there are certain issues bordering on the continent and the sub-region that I discuss with various presidents,” Jonathan said.
