Derby della Madonnina returns to Europe.

The Milan derby takes centre stage as the two biggest Milan teams Inter and AC Milan face-off in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) in Milan.

Milan derbies are always huge occasions and with a golden opportunity to make the Champions League final on the line, we expect no little than a fierce encounter as it was the last time both sides met in the UCL back in 2005, the infamous night at the San Siro which saw the second leg of the tie abandoned after Inter Milan fans launched flares onto the playing surface of the pitch.

The last time both sides met at this stage of the competition was 20 years ago, when the pair drew 1-1 on aggregate across both legs. This tie across both legs is also expected to be a close call contest as both sides are yet to secure an automatic qualification to the UCL next season owing to their respective league positions currently.

AC Milan are the hosts for the first leg of the tie which would be played at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) in Milan while Inter Milan would be hosting the second leg fixture at the same venue on the 16th of May.
