DAVIDO ROSE TO STARDOM WITH NO SUPPORT - DAVIDO'S MANAGER.

 

During a candid interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Asa Asika, the esteemed talent manager of Afrobeats sensation Davido, unveiled a startling revelation regarding their journey to stardom. Asa shattered the common misconception surrounding Davido's rise to prominence, asserting that they received minimal support during their early days in the industry. The interview, which was published recently, shed light on the challenging beginnings of this now widely acclaimed artist. 

 

Asa expressed his candid opinion, dispelling the notion that Davido effortlessly entered the music industry. With unwavering honesty, he disclosed, that, contrary to public opinion, how people said that Davido came to the Industry. 

 

He went on to recount a specific incident during the production of Davido's hit song “Dami Duro,” where their determination triumphed over adversity. Asa recalled, “In Dami Duro video, how he spent a N100,000. Saying, I gave one person at one TV station N100,000 because I could not let go of relationships.” His tenacity and refusal to sever valuable connections exemplified their unwavering commitment to success. 

 

However, fate seemed to have conspired against them, as Asa mentioned a petrol strike that coincided with the release of the music video. Despite the unfavorable circumstances, Asa's resourcefulness prevailed, and he managed to allocate a mere 100,000 Naira towards promoting the song. It was a testament to their resilience, as they firmly believed that success could still be attained against all odds. 

 

Asa's interview with Chude Jideonwo shed light on the arduous journey Davido and his team undertook to establish their names in the music industry, afrobeat in general, and it served as a reminder that even the most celebrated stars face obstacles on their path to success.
