Edo Police is offering a $5 million reward for the arrest of a Nigerian lady living in Canada for cyberbullying, stalking, defamation, and impersonation.
The Edo State Police Command has issued a $5 million reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest of Rachael Eboni Osazee Iyonmana, a Nigerian woman living in Canada. She has been charged with cyberbullying, stalking, slander, and impersonation.
The police had declared the suspect sought in January through its Special Police Gazette Bulletin, according to the Command's spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor.
Nwabuzor stated that on January 11, the Commissioner of Police received a plea from Festus Alenkhe, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Edo State Council. The petition accused cyberbullying, stalking, and character defamation against Iyonmana.

According to the police spokeswoman, intelligence sources suggested that the suspect was in Canada while the police were on her tail to apprehend her.
Subsequent inquiry found that the suspect had created many Facebook accounts using the petitioner's photos and full name, as well as using degrading and disparaging comments to malign his character.
Nwabuzor added that once she was declared wanted, the suspect went out of her way to create other Facebook accounts using the petitioner's picture. She continued to send messages as if they were sent by the complainant.
The police official noted that Iyonmana's Facebook accounts were not the complainant's creation. He claimed the suspect made them to make people assume Festus was the culprit.
The reward: As a result, the police have requested anyone with knowledge regarding Iyonmana's presence in Nigeria to contact them. The information would be considered by the Commissioner of Police's office, the PPRO, and the Anti-kidnapping and Cybercrime section. The informant would receive $5 million.
