Nigerian superstar, afrobeats legendary icon, seasoned music executive and CEO to one of the most successful labels in Africa, David Adeleke known professionally as Davido has been a consistent force to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry since his launch into the spotlight in 2012. His decade old career has spanned multiple hits, certifications, bagged him several awards and has helped imprint his name in the sands of time.
On the 21st March, 2023 Davido took to twitter to announce the title of his highly anticipated album, Timeless scheduled for release tomorrow, the 31st of March, 2023. This would serve as the star’s fourth album after the success of his last album A better time released in 2020 and his first project after his 5-month hiatus in relation to the infamous loss of his son, Ifeanyi.
Ahead of the release of this magnus opus, Davido has dropped the official tracklist to his album. The album consists of a 17-track line-up, which includes the previously released Champion sound with amapiano ambassador Focalistic.
The album features an impressive selection of established international acts and upcoming local artists just breaking through the dents. From the UK’s grime and rave lord, Skepta, the quintessential grammy-winning Angelique Kidjo to Nigeria’s most recent feat-breaking artist of the moment, Asake down to Dancehall King, Dexta Daps.
Davido also extends the spotlight to his newly signed acts, Morravey; a Port-harcourt based songstress who blends her sonorous vocals with afropop and Logos Olori, an afrobeats sensation whose sound is based off his Southwestern roots and his sound is a pure lace of pop and vibes.
The management of the record label confirmed the signing of the new artists in a statement on Wednesday.
