China Pledges Increased Economic Cooperation With Nigeria

The Chinese president made an address on Wednesday through Peng Qinghua, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, People's Republic of China, according to a statement by the president's media adviser, Tunde Rahman.

 

The two nations currently have positive bilateral relations and economic cooperation, according to Qinghua, who met with Tinubu at the State House in Abuja. He also said that Chinese businesses were doing well in Nigeria in the areas of roads, highways, hydropower, and free trade zones.

 

The Chinese envoy said there were places where Nigeria could profit from China while applauding Tinubu's strategy to guide Nigeria into a new age of economic progress and prosperity.

Asserting that Nigeria is crucial to both Africa and the world, Chinese President XI Jinping has promised to increase economic cooperation with the nation.

 

The Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, Peng Qinghua, who met with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday at the State House in Abuja, served as the Chinese president's special envoy.

 

Qinghua said that Chinese businesses were succeeding in Nigeria in the areas of roads, railways, hydropower, and free trade zones and claimed that the two nations now enjoyed good bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

 

Despite praising President Tinubu's strategy for guiding Nigeria into a new age of economic growth and prosperity, the Chinese envoy claimed there were some areas where Nigeria might profit from China.

 

He urged President Tinubu to improve the investment climate and urged the two nations to exchange ideas and match their agendas.

 

President Tinubu responded by stating that Nigeria is open for trade and cooperative partnerships and that it would do business with any nation willing to do business with it.

 

He pledged that his administration will try to encourage business accessibility.

 

He said: “We need accelerated growth and we are ready to do business honestly with those ready to do business with us.
