Chelsea sack Graham Potter

Chelsea have announced the sacking of Graham Potter as their head coach after just seven months in the job.

The English professional football coach was appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s successor on the 8th of September on a 5-year contract but has now officially been sacked after winning only seven games in 22 Premier League games since leaving Brighton to take the job in London.

Former Brighton defender Bruno Saltor has been appointed as interim head coach and would oversee upcoming training sessions with Assistant coach Bjorn Hamberg and goalkeeper coach Ben Roberts remaining to offer the much needed assistance.

A statement from co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali after Potter’s sacking read: â€œOn behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Graham sincerely for his contribution to Chelsea.”

“We have the highest degree of respect for Graham as a coach and as a person. He has always conducted himself with professionalism and integrity and we are all disappointed in this outcome.”

“Along with our incredible fans, we will all be getting behind Bruno and the team as we focus on the rest of the season.”

“We have 10 Premier League games remaining and a Champions League quarter-final ahead. We will put every effort and commitment into every one of those games so that we can end the season on a high.”

Bruno Saltor is expected to be in charge of the upcoming games with some high profile names of coaches in the list of potential replacements.
