Certainly a ‘Good Friday’ for Burnley as they re-gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Vincent Kompany’s Burnley side are certainly no Judas as they have not betrayed their hopes of regaining promotion back to the English top tier division, the Premier League, doing that immediately after their relegation in the 2021/22 season.

After beating Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium 2-1, the Clarets secured promotion with seven games to spare till the end of the Championship season. They sit on top of the table with 87 points, 11 points above second-placed Sheffield United.

Burnley are certainly now focused on winning the Championship at the end of the season but would maybe be looking at breaking some interesting records like Reading’s 106 points tally they set when they won the title in 2005/06, currently on 87 points from 39 games, Burnley need to avoid dropping a single point in the remaining 7 games to break the record.
