BURNA BOY AND AYRA STARR SONGS GOT A SPOT IN BARRACK OBAMA'S SUMMER PLAYLIST.

Included in former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama's 2023 summer playlist were the musical delights of the afrobeats genre. Obama, the 44th American leader, unveiled the handpicked selection through his Twitter handle, his captivating music enthusiasts worldwide.

One of the standout tracks featured on the playlist was “Sittin' On Top Of The World” by the Grammy award-winning Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, which showcased a dynamic collaboration with the US-based British rapper, 21 Savage. Another remarkable inclusion was the soul-stirring melody “Sability” by the talented afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr.

Obama's annual tradition of sharing his summer playlist has become a much-anticipated event, offering a glimpse into his diverse musical tastes. The collection often comprises a delightful mix of both classic and contemporary tunes, revealing the former President's passion for music and his inclination to discover new sounds.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time Nigerian artists have found themselves on Obama's celebrated playlists. In previous years, renowned talents like Wizkid, Tems, and Rema have also received this esteemed recognition. In 2019, “Iron Man” from Rema's debut EP earned a place on Obama's summer playlist, while in 2021, the enchanting collaboration between Wizkid and Tems with their hit “Essence” added to the musical marvel.

This acknowledgment from such a prominent figure like Barack Obama elevates the global influence and appeal of afrobeats music. It serves as a testament to the genre's ability to transcend borders and cultures, leaving a lasting impression on music enthusiasts worldwide.
