A frequently blamed Nigerian singer named Portable owns the musical company Zeh Nation, where Manny Monie was previously signed. 

Manny Monie, Portable's signee, was allegedly beaten in November for supposedly using another distributor. He asserted that he generates millions of Naira at the studio in a matter of days, but that he was startled to find sales of only N7,000 upon his return from a month-long trip. 

Manny, however, said that even after receiving N700,000 from him to appear on one of his songs, his old employer still accused him of being a fraudster. He petitioned the police to arrest Portable for hitting him, After three months of not responding to the petition, Portable was detained by the Ogun State Police. It has been claimed that, in addition to resisting arrest and hurting a police officer, Portable is facing more than six offences. 

In a social media video that went viral, Manny Monie claimed responsibility for his arrest: 

I was the author of the petition against Portable. We didn't write the petition today. Since December of last year, we have been writing it. The Police have made every effort. They invited him over because they did not want his name to be spoiled online. 

He had at least three months to provide his perspective. He allegedly assaulted me online, beat me up and, took my things, Monie claimed. 

Later, after being freed from police custody, Portable published the song “I Am Not a Prisoner.” In the lyrics, he fibbed about how the experience went. 

Mandy Kiss spoke in an interview with Eagle 102.5Fm today, April 19, 2023, about the daily threats he receives following Portable's arrest. He also discussed how he handled Portable seizing his phone for five days before the arrest. He mentioned that a new song titled “KING OF PETITION” would be released soon.
