Boko Haram Slaughters 15 Villagers In Borno

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents killed at least 15 persons in two communities in Borno state's Jere Local Government Area.

According to reports, the terrorists entered Kofa hamlet after midnight and began shooting for approximately an hour into the early hours of Friday.

It was discovered that they also attacked Molai Kura and Molai Gana, where they slaughtered some people, while many residents reportedly abandoned their homes to seek refuge.

According to sources, Bukar Ali Musty, a leading member of a vigilante group, killed farmers while working on farms in Borno State's Jere local government area.

On Thursday, the farmers were working on their farmland at Molai, on the outskirts of Maiduguri, when rebels ambushed and beheaded them, according to him.

"At least 15 bodies were evacuated this morning, the attacks took place yesterday (Thursday).

“Seven farmers were beheaded while working on their farmland and the attackers also slit the throats of eight other harmless civilians in their homes,” he said.

Another civilian JTF who was part of the evacuation team expressed alarm about the attacks, adding that all stakeholders must wake up to ensure that it does not happen again.

“It was a sad development considering the progress that we have made in the months without any attacks on communities.

“I was there this morning. I can’t imagine seeing my fellow human being slaughtered like a ram. All those bodies that we recovered were found in the pool of blood and I think we all need to rise to tame this enemy of peace,” the source said.v
