Bayern appoint Thomas Tuchel after Nagelsmann dismissal.

FC Bayern Munich have announced the appointment of German tactician Thomas Tuchel as their new head coach following the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann in an official statement by the club which read; â€œFc Bayern and head coach Julian Nagelsmann have parted company. This decision was taken by CEO Oliver Kahn and board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic in consultation with club president Herbert Hainer. Nagelsmann will be succeeded by Thomas Tuchel.”

The former Chelsea, PSG and Borussia Dortmund coach will receive a contract until 30^th June 2025 and would supervise squad training for the first time on Monday, 27^th March 2023 with the available players who were not called up for international duty.

In his first press conference following his appointment, the 49-years old German professional manager stated; â€œIt’s a huge honour to be able to sign a contract with FC Bayern. I’d like to thank Oliver Kahn, Hasan Salihamidzic, Herbert Hainer and Uli Hoeness for their trust. Even if I’ve worked abroad for a while, you become even more aware of the club’s importance. The DNA of this club is commitment. It’s all about winning at Bayern, as well as the way you win. The squad here is one of the best and most talented in Europe and I am excited to be able to work together with this squad.”

The 2021 UEFA Champions League winning coach’s first assignment would be a home game against his former side Borussia Dortmund at the Alianz Arena in the famous “Der Klassiker” on the 1^st of April, 2023 with his current side trailing to the famous “Yellow and Black” by a point in the league table after 25 games played. The Best FIFA Football Coach for 2021 wasted no time at all in admitting how big the challenge would be, but stated his side would be going into the challenge with excitement and anticipation. In his own words, he said; â€œThere is no bigger challenge than starting my time here with a game against Dortmund. It is the biggest game in German football. The upcoming game even has an added element to it, given the current state of the league table. Borussia Dortmund are on a fantastic run of form. That won’t stop us from going into the challenge with excitement and anticipation though.”
