AY Live show : AY addresses the controversy going on about him and Basketmouth

The rift between two comedians(Basket mouth and A.y) has been a flip-flop on social media but briefly let's run through their background.

AY(real name Chude Jideonwo) is a Nigerian comedian, actor, writer, and filmmaker. He was born on August 19, 1971, in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. AY is the host of the AY Live shows and has won numerous awards for his comedy performances. He is also known for his role in the movie "30 Days in Atlanta" and has produced several movies, including "A Trip to Jamaica," and "Merry Men."

Basketmouth(real name Bright Okpocha) is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, and producer. Born on September 14, 1978, he has won numerous awards for his work in the entertainment industry. He is known for his witty and satirical comedy style and has performed in several countries around the world.

It all started when a fan of A.y asked him on an IG live video about his feud with Basketmouth, and he gave it a roller coaster answer but not going into details until he had another podcast session and revealed how it happened. He said he stood in for Basketmouth for a wedding party in 2006 and the pay was #30,000 because he often gets multiple gigs of job.

However, after the event he asked for his money from Basketmouth, and he claimed that he is yet to receive his payment also from the host, a few days later he was broke and hungry then he tried to reach out to the host and realized that Basketmouth has been paid for the job.

He further sent a screenshot of both parties to verify their information which caused a misunderstanding between both parties, he did not do that to get back at Basket Mouth but based on his current situation of being broke.

Basketmouth also had a podcast session with Nedu (media personnel) where he said his side of the story stating that he was never friends with AY right from the onset, that they will never find a picture of both of them together on social media which was later dug out by social media fans.

He further explained why, which was due to some trait he heard from people and he also did it to him causing a shift back from him towards Ay. He acclaimed that the #30,000 wasn't the reason, and he never invited Ay and his wife to his wedding, but they just came because they were never friends.

Recently, on AY Live show, he addressed the controversy going on social media about him and Basketmouth, telling fans and bloggers not to take it to heart because it was a long-time rift. He cracked a series of jokes about his daughter requesting when he needs his #30,000 back and examples of what beefing means using Psquare and Portable as a case study (both Nigerian singers) but regardless of everything, Basketmouth is his gee for life.
