Avoid unnecessary power Struggles to enable the incoming government to land well- APC Youth Group Caution Politicians.

The APC National Youth Caucus in Cross River State have frowned at attempts by some politicians in the State to create chaos and disunity amongst Cross Riverians.

APC National Youth Caucus is a pressure group within the ruling All Progressives Congress whose objective is to ensure a just and fair youth participation in the political process of our country.

The group in a statement made available to journalists in Calabar today described the concerted attempt  by some political party leaders to cause disaffection, as reflective of their personal and selfish quest to continually keep the people of this State in perpetual political bondage, leading to mass poverty.

State chairman of the group, Comrade Dunamis Archibong, while addressing the press, totally condemned the action of those politicians mischievously using the Governorship election petition tribunal in Calabar to distabilize the State.

"Cross Riverians have freely and unanimously chosen their leader for the next four years, and we advise that this decision should be respected by anyone who claims to love the people and genuinely desire to serve them. The continuous fighting through court litigations simply amount to fighting the will of the people. Sen. Otu came well prepared for the job and as we all know, the people have willingly given him their mandate, the least any well meaning person can do now is to display sportsmanship, rather than fight the meritorious holder of this sacred mandate."

The statement further said that: "The resounding victory of Ntufam Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu at the Governorship poll was not by coincidence; on the contrary, it was due to his years of hardwork, good reputation, trustworthiness,  simplicity, accessibility, proven capacity to perform and the visibility of his achievements. These were qualities that  endeared him to the people"

According to Comrade Dunamis, anyone who thinks of challenging the mandate given to Sen. Otu will be challenging the right of the people and will surely have the people to contend with.

" The truth is, the Cross River State Governor-elect, Ntufam Sen. Bassey Edet Otu's victory cannot successfully be challenged. How can you conclusively challenge a man who won with high margins in 15 out of 18 LGAs - defeating his opponents even in their respective LGAs.

"We appeal, in the overall interest of our dear State and for the sake of peace and progress, that whosoever is in court as a result of the Governorship election should as a matter of urgency withdraw the suit in order to eliminate the distractions and unnecessary delays that may beset the development of our state"
