Attack On A Policeman: The Police Must Do Everything Within Its Power To Ensure That Justice Is Served—Major General E. E. Emekah

Former Director of Military Training at Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General E. E. Emekah has reacted to the assault of a policeman in uniform.

Recall that, an Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, the youngest son of the legendary late Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti, a Nigerian musician was caught on camera assaulting a police officer on duty.

Reacting to the incident on his official Facebook page, the army general has urged the police to do all within its power to bring the perpetrator of such an act to book. He said the police have been dismissing their men found guilty of unruly behaviours as such, justice should be given if the reverse is the case.

The statement reads; "The police has in recent times dismissed her personnel for harassing citizens. Now that a citizen has assaulted a policeman in uniform for whatever reasons, and the policeman was professional enough to remain calm and not react, the police authority must do everything within its power to ensure that justice is served."

Although, reasons for such behaviour coming from Seun have not been ascertained as they are still rumours going around.

However, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered his arrest while Seun at his end has promised full cooperation to enable the police to do their investigations.
