An assist for the title, Mario Balotelli’s only Premier League assist.

 

 

Mario Balotelli’s signing in 2010 by Manchester city from Inter Milan by former manager Roberto Mancini raised so many questions and doubts following the player’s poor disciplinary record in Italy but after both parties worked together at Inter Milan, it turned out to be a reunion that left the whole footballing world with some incredible memories. 

“Super Mario” as he’s been widely nicknamed is definitely a player with lots of controversies as well as some outstanding achievements to his name. Not only did he win the treble with Inter Milan in 2010, he went on to help Manchester City win their first trophy in 35 years as he helped his new team win the FA Cup in 2011.

 

The 2010 Golden Boy Award winner provided the assist to Sergio Aguero who scored the 94th minute winner in a dramatic game to win City their first league title since 1968. The goal is remembered for all it stands for and its significance but an unknown fact behind the goal is that, the assist was Mario Balotelli’s only Premier League assist in his career despite making 70 appearances and scoring 21 goals in the league.
