ASAKE COULD NOT AFFORD THE 5 MILLION NAIRA, I CHARGE FOR SERVICES - TG OMORI

In the continuation of his revealing interview on the Zero Conditions podcast, TG Omori shared an intriguing anecdote about his interaction with artist Asake. He recounted a significant moment from three years prior, when he initially quoted Asake a fee of 5 million Naira for his services, a sum that Asake found prohibitively high and could not afford. However, destiny had other plans for their collaboration.

Fast-forward to a more recent time, after Asake's track “Omo Ope” soared to the top position on the country's music charts, Asake revisited TG Omori for his video production expertise. This extraordinary achievement propelled Asake into the limelight and significantly boosted his popularity. Taking advantage of the newfound success, Asake sought to collaborate with TG Omori once again.

To his surprise, when TG Omori approached Asake with his revised fee of 10 million Naira, the artist wasn't as receptive as he had anticipated. TG Omori humorously recounted that he advised Asake to momentarily abstain from clubbing and channel his funds towards the video production costs. Yet, reality turned out to be quite different from his jesting suggestion.

The unexpected twist in the story came when Olamide, Baddo, YBNL founder made a decisive move. He signed Asake under his record label, effectively changing the dynamics of their partnership. With this unexpected development, TG Omori found himself tasked with directing the music video for “Omo Ope” after all. In a fitting conclusion to the tale, TG Omori summed up the experience as history in the making – a testament to the unpredictable nature of the music industry and the unexpected turns that collaborations can take.
