Arsenal keep title dreams alive.

Arsenal made sure they won’t go down without a fight for the title as they go game-by-game after their resounding 2-0 victory against Newcastle at St. James Park.

Arsenal moved back to within a point off league leaders Manchester City, even though they have played a game more than the Manchester club.

Leading his team in the right direction, Martin Odegaard took the bull by the horn when he gave his Arsenal side the lead in the 14th minute of the game after driving in a low long-range effort from outside the box straight into the back of Nick Pope’s net. The Norwegian midfielder has now scored 5 goals in his last 5 matches and now has 15 league goals making him the joint top scorer for the English side this season, along with Gabriel Martinelli.

An unfortunate mistake from Fabian Schar made it 2-0 for the Gunners as the Swiss defender put the ball into his own net in the 71st minute after a brilliant solo run from Gabriel Martinelli which saw his low-driven cross helped by Schar into the net.

Mikel Arteta’s side have responded perfectly to the 4-1 loss to Manchester City in April as they have gone on to win their following two games after that. They are also only the second side this season to get a victory at St. James Park.
