Veteran Nollywood actor Joseph Benjamin's journey to the United States of America took an unexpected turn as he found himself venturing into the taxi business after being let down by a promised acting opportunity. The 46-year-old actor shared his story on the King of Talks podcast - Tejubabyface, revealing his initial optimism that turned into an unexpected struggle for survival. 

 

Relocating from Nigeria with high hopes of a prosperous acting career in America, Joseph Benjamin faced disappointment when the promised movie gigs fell through. He arrived in the U.S. only to discover that his potential deals had collapsed, leaving him with uncertainty and financial challenges. 

 

Stranded and with limited resources, he found himself in a well-furnished house, but with no way to cover the exorbitant rent. Despite the dire circumstances, he held on to his determination and perseverance. Struggling to make ends meet, he reflected on his past financial habits and the need for change. 

 

Joseph Benjamin's resilience began to shine through as he embraced his new reality and relied on his faith to guide him. Connecting with his church and receiving support from unexpected sources, he managed to keep afloat. Eventually, he was given a car, which he turned into an opportunity by joining ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft to generate income.
