Zambia have secured their qualification to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which is the 34th Edition of the biennial event organized by CAF scheduled to be played in Ivory Coast between January 2024 to February the same year.

Zambia booked their ticket courtesy of a 3-0 victory against Ivory Coast at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. An own goal from Serge Aurier as well as goals from Patson Daka and Kings Kangwa ensured the 2012 AFCON champions have secured their ticket to next year’s event qualifying from Group H.

The Copper Bullets would be making their eighteenth appearance in the competition.

This edition of the tournament was supposed to be the 3rd taking place in the summer of 2023 since the 2019 edition but CAF announced a decision to postpone it to 2024 on the 3rd of July, 2022 due to weather concerns in the host country during the summer.
