Guinea have secured their qualification to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which is the 34th Edition of the biennial event organized by CAF scheduled to be played in Ivory Coast between January 2024 to February the same year.
Despite their most recent 1-2 loss to Egypt at the Stade de Marrakech, Guinea have now secured qualification thanks to Ethiopia’s 0-0 draw against Malawi which ensured 9 points from 5 qualification matches was enough to see Guinea qualify from Group D along with Egypt.
The National Elephants are back in the competition for the third consecutive time as well as making their fourteenth appearance overall in the competition.
This edition of the tournament was supposed to be the 3rd taking place in the summer of 2023 since the 2019 edition but CAF announced a decision to postpone it to 2024 on the 3rd of July, 2022 due to weather concerns in the host country during the summer.
