TO ADDRESS A FAULT THAT MIGHT RESULT IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, NISSAN IS RECALLING MORE THAN 236,000 VEHICLES.

Nissan is voluntarily recalling over 236,000 compact cars in the US because the front suspension's tie rods have a tendency to break and bend, which might result in the loss of steering control.

Certain Sentra small cars from the 2020 through 2022 model years are included in the recall. Tie rods aid in steering by allowing wheels to move.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration published Nissan's paperwork on Saturday. Nissan claims that if tie rods become bent, they can break and influence the steering, increasing the risk of a collision.

If a vibration is felt or the steering wheel is out of center, owners should contact dealers. Dealers will initially check for damage and replace any broken or bent tie rods. They will replace both the left and right tie rods at no charge to owners whenever a new design is available.

Starting on October 5, letters informing owners will be sent out. As soon as parts are available, a second letter will be sent out.

According to the records, several of the identical vehicles were recalled in 2021 to address the same issue. When the new tie rods are ready, they must be installed in vehicles that were previously recalled and fixed.
