Abducted sister-in-law of former Abuja LG vice chairman found dead in forest with her head and breasts missing

A mother of seven, Mrs Maimuna Mohammed Sheke, who was abducted in Abuja, was found dead with her head, breasts and other body parts missing. As e dey happen Blog earlier reported that the decomposed body of the woman was discovered in a forest weeks after she was kidnapped. The woman was among 29 villagers that were abducted on April 24, 2023, after gunmen invaded Yewuti village, the hometown of a former vice chairman of Kwali Area Council of the FCT, Alhaji Zubairu Jibrin Yewuti. Most of the victims were rescued on May 5, 2023, through the joint effort of the police anti-kidnap squad of the FCT command and vigilantes from the FCT and Kogi State. Confirming the discovery to the Daily Trust on Wednesday, May 17, a vigilante, who preferred anonymity, said the woman escaped when vigilantes and police stormed the kidnappers’ den in a forest that bordered Toto LGA of Nasarawa and Koton Karfe LGA of Kogi State but was later killed. “Actually, the woman escaped the day vigilantes and police stormed the kidnappers’ camp last week. A timber operator discovered her decomposed body and alerted us,” he said. He said the deceased woman was the wife to the elder brother of the former vice chairman of Kwali Area Council, Alhaji Zubairu Jibrin Yewuti, who directed that her corpse be buried at the scene. Alhaji Zubairu, who confirmed that the deceased was the wife of his elder brother, said, “It is quite unfortunate that the wife of my elder brother, a mother of seven, Maimuna Mohammed, who was declared missing was later found on Tuesday in a forest in Kogi State with some of her body parts missing."
