A 27-year-old woman, Flo Bragg, ended up in the hospital with a broken nose and missing front teeth after a mishap while trying to recreate the iconic "Dirty Dancing" lift during her vacation in Provence, France.
While staying at a villa, she and her 40-year-old partner grew bored and decided to attempt the famous lift from the 1987 film starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze in their pool. Unfortunately, things went awry when she fell face-first into a wall, resulting in the loss of her two front teeth and a broken nose.
Now back in the UK, Flo is seeking to raise £270 for her dental treatment, which includes x-rays and a double root canal.
Reflecting on the incident, the Exeter sales executive said, “We were just bored one day and thought it would be fun to try it a few times. I really wanted to nail the lift, but on my second attempt, I went straight into a wall.”
In a video of the attempt, the couple can be seen laughing while performing the lift, but Flo soon tumbles into the water, revealing later that she hit the wall on the way down. Initially, her partner chuckled at the failed lift, but his demeanor quickly changed when she cried out for help, saying, “I split my lip!”
After the accident on September 19, he rushed her to the hospital, where her teeth were temporarily reattached. The injury prevented her from enjoying the remainder of her trip, as she struggled to eat regular food and had to avoid sun exposure.
Now, she is hoping to gather funds to cover her medical expenses from France and her ongoing treatment. "Any contributions would be appreciated," she said. "I ended up with a broken nose, a split lip, and two lost teeth over a lift.
