Toronto Police Arrest Nigerian Woman for Threatening Violence Against Yorubas and

 

The Toronto Police Service has arrested Amaka Sonnberger, a 46-year-old Nigerian woman, following her threats to poison and kill Yoruba and Edo individuals in Canada. The arrest took place on September 1, after police received reports about a viral audio recording in which she made these threats on August 25, 2024.

In their statement, the police confirmed that she has been charged with uttering threats and is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Monday, September 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in courtroom 107. The investigation is being regarded as a potential hate-motivated offense.
