AbdulSamad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Cement, announced that the company sold over a million tons of BUA cement to dealers at a price of N3,500 per bag to help lower consumer costs. Despite this effort, dealers were charging consumers between N7,000 and N8,000 for each bag. Rabiu explained that effectively regulating the dealers was difficult, as they were making significant profits due to high price margins, and the company had limited control over market pricing. As a result, BUA Cement has decided to discontinue its pricing policy.
