A conflict appears to be escalating between Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and his political mentor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, as the governor reportedly refuses to dismiss two high-ranking officials as directed by Kwankwaso.
The officials in question are Baba Dantiye, the Commissioner for Information, and Dr. Abdullahi Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). Sources indicate that Kwankwaso is dissatisfied with Bichi’s reluctance to follow his instructions regarding official matters.
Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has suggested replacing Dantiye with a social media influencer he deems more capable of managing the ministry and enhancing the state government's image.
Insiders close to Governor Yusuf reveal that he prefers to discuss the matter directly with Kwankwaso rather than comply with his directives.
