In the Iwofun area of Odigbo Local Government, Ondo State, chaos erupted when a farmer named Monday allegedly stabbed his friend, known as Aboki, over a debt of N2,000. The incident took place in the early hours of Friday, September 20, 2024.
Residents reported that the conflict stemmed from a larger argument about N7,000. "Monday owed the deceased N7,000, and the dispute began on Wednesday when Aboki inquired about the payment. They fought, and we were called to help resolve the issue," a local resident shared with an Ondo state newspaper.
"During the confrontation, Monday eventually paid N5,000, leaving a balance of N2,000. When Aboki asked about the remaining amount, the argument intensified, leading to Monday stabbing him to death." It has been reported that the police have apprehended the suspect in Odigbo.
