Senator Oluremi Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Enhance Mental Health Awareness

Senator Oluremi Tinubu has called on Nigerians to focus on improving mental health awareness. In a message marking World Mental Health Day, Nigeria's First Lady encouraged people to seek medical help and counseling early. This year's theme, "It's Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace," highlights the importance of addressing mental health issues, especially as many face dissatisfaction at work, which can impact their well-being.

She stated, "Today, I join the global community in observing Mental Health Awareness Day. This year's theme is particularly relevant, given that many individuals experience workplace dissatisfaction for various reasons that can affect their mental health. Bottling up emotions can lead to mental health challenges."

Tinubu noted that if there were no fears of stigma, people would be more likely to discuss their struggles openly, facilitating early diagnosis and better recovery outcomes. "With love and support, we can significantly reduce mental health issues within and outside the workplace. Let's all commit to raising mental health awareness and encourage individuals to seek help and counseling early. Be your brother's keeper for a safer society."
