Senate Delays Resumption to September 24

The Senate has pushed back its resumption date from September 17 to Tuesday, September 24, 2024. This announcement was made by the Clerk of the Senate, Chinedu Akubueze, in an internal memo titled "Change in Resumption Date from Summer Break" sent to all lawmakers on Wednesday.

The memo explained that the Senate was originally set to return from its annual recess on September 17, but the leadership has decided to delay it by one week. It stated, "Please be informed that the resumption date from the ongoing recess has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11 am. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

It’s worth noting that the Senate began its annual recess on July 2
