rench Government Donates Over N500 Million to Nigerian Universities to Tackle Plastic Pollution

The French government has donated more than N500 million to five tertiary institutions in Nigeria as part of efforts to combat plastic pollution.

In June, the French Embassy launched a plastic waste management project valued at €753,000, aimed at helping universities across Nigeria develop innovative and sustainable solutions to address plastic pollution.

On Wednesday, five Nigerian universities were recognized for their initiatives to reduce plastic waste on their campuses.

The institutions awarded include Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Osun, Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech) in Lagos, Alex Ekwueme Funai University in Ebonyi, the University of Calabar, and the University of Delta
