Ooni of Ife Urges Patience with President Tinubu During Seven-Day Seclusion

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has called on Nigerians to "remain patient" with President Bola Tinubu's administration as the country faces challenging times. Ahead of his seven-day seclusion for prayer and communion with ancestors, the monarch expressed concern over the hardships many citizens are experiencing, acknowledging that this period is a test for the nation.

In a statement released on Monday by his spokesperson, Moses Olafare, it was noted that the Ooni will spend the week in seclusion seeking divine intervention for Nigeria's well-being. Before entering seclusion, the monarch described this rite as a sacred moment for him on the throne, allowing him to connect with his ancestors and pray for the people and the Oduduwa race worldwide.

He stated, "I want to pray and seek the Creator's intervention regarding the current economic situation. People are feeling the hardship, and I urge everyone, especially the youth, to exercise patience so we don’t inadvertently harm our country."

Ooni added, "I understand that many are going through difficult times, and this is indeed a challenging period. However, I believe that after this festival, normalcy will return, and our current problems will soon be resolved."
