OFFICIAL: Wolves appoint O’Neil as head coach.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the appointment of Gary O’Neil as their new head coach following the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui.

The former Bournemouth manager, 40, signs a three-year deal with wolves becoming their youngest ever manager this millennium.

O’Neil guided Bournemouth to Premier League safety last season claiming some impressive victories including a 1-0 victory over Liverpool en route their 15th place finish. He was also nominated for April’s Barclays Manager of the Month award having led his side to five wins from seven matches in that period.

His side’s 3-2 comeback win against Nottingham Forest in September 2022 won Oracle’s Most Improbable Comeback Award. A trip to Old Trafford would be his first task of his new job as his Wolves side face Manchester United for their opening fixture of the new season.
