Chelsea have completed the signing of French International defender Alex Disasi from Monaco for a reported fee of around €45million.
The 25-year old defender made 118 appearances for Monaco since his move from Stade de Reims in August 2020. He scored 3 goals and provided the same number of assists in 38 league games for Monaco last season and has earned four caps for France including three appearances at the 2022 FIFA World cup in Qatar.
Following Wesley Fofana’s long term injury, Disasi is being brought in to cover for the shortage in central defence and can offer a decent performance too at right back if the need be, so, his versatility isn’t a question.
A lot is being said about Chelsea’s summer business as they are quite busy with player sales meanwhile much is not being said about their acquisitions as Alex Disasi joins a long list of summer purchases which include Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Alex Matos, Diego Moreira, Kendry Paez, Lesley Ugochukwu, Angelo, Malo Gusto, Cesare Casadei and Andrey Santos.
