NSCDC Arrests 10 Suspects for Rape, Illegal Abortion, and Fraud in Oyo State

 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Oyo State Command has apprehended 10 individuals for various offenses, including rape, illegal abortion, and financial fraud. During a press briefing on August 30, 2024, State Commandant Augustine Padonu reported the arrest of 19-year-old Aminu Victor from Adamawa State, who is accused of raping his boss's 9-year-old daughter.

In another incident, three men—Qayum Babatunde (18), Azim Gbadamosi (19), and Mutiu Olaniyi (43)—were arrested for the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl. Additionally, a 23-year-old unlicensed nurse, Moshood Oyindamola, was detained for performing an illegal abortion on the victim.

The Command's Tracking Unit also nabbed several individuals involved in various financial fraud schemes. Bakare Jide Damilare (42) was arrested for conspiring to defraud a victim of 17 million Naira by falsely selling a 2016 Toyota Highlander Jeep. Alabi Victor (25) is accused of using his father's bank account to carry out a fraud. Furthermore, three suspects—Abiodun Oluwafemi, Akinloye Sakirat Folasade, and Victoria Akanbi—were arrested for defrauding a store owner of 738,670 Naira.
