Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS). According to Vanguard, the arrest occurred this morning, September 9, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, just as he was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.
While details surrounding the arrest remain unclear, sources indicate that he has been transferred to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Ajaero was scheduled to attend the Trade Union Congress (TUC) conference in the UK today. This incident follows an invitation he received from the police last week regarding his alleged connection to terrorism financing.
