NDLEA Seizes Cocaine and Opioids Hidden in Sanitary Pads and Hair Cream

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted consignments of cocaine and pharmaceutical opioids concealed in women's sanitary pads and hair cream containers, destined for the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Cyprus.

On September 3, 2024, NDLEA officials recovered 30 parcels containing 1.1 kilograms of cocaine concealed within hair cream containers during an inspection at a logistics company in Lagos. Additionally, on September 6, 24 parcels weighing 862 grams, also hidden in hair cream containers, were intercepted, intended for the UK.

Furthermore, on September 3, NDLEA operatives seized 525 pills of tramadol (225mg) and ecstasy (MDMA) concealed in sanitary pads at another courier firm in Lagos, targeting Cyprus. The following day, they confiscated a shipment of 200 ampoules of promethazine and pentazocine injections hidden among food items and herbs bound for London.
