Napoli has officially excluded Victor Osimhen from their Serie A squad for the remainder of the season, transferring his number 9 shirt to new signing Romelu Lukaku. This decision follows a hectic transfer deadline day when Osimhen was unable to finalize moves to either Chelsea or Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
Despite being removed from the squad, Osimhen remains under contract with Napoli until summer 2026, earning approximately €10 million per season. In addition to Osimhen, defender Mario Rui has also been omitted from the squad to accommodate new arrivals, while Nigerian-Italian midfielder Michael Folorunsho has retained his position in the team.
