Mayweather Dominates Gotti III in Controversial Exhibition Rematch

Former world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather once again bested John Gotti III, grandson of the late New York crime boss, in a rematch that failed to impress the crowd in Mexico City.

On Saturday, the 47-year-old Mayweather showcased his skills, controlling the fight from the beginning to the end, despite some confusion caused by the absence of a round-ending bell and the referee leaving the ring during the match. The eight-round exhibition featured two-minute rounds with breaks of the same duration, yet the fight continued past the designated time due to complaints from Gottiā€™s corner.

The second round added to the confusion when Mayweather landed an illegal punch, prompting Panamanian referee Hector Afu to walk out of the ring, seemingly frustrated with Mayweather's conduct. Mexican referee Alfredo Uruzquieta then stepped in to officiate the remainder of the bout.

It wasn't until the fourth round that Gotti managed to land some significant punches to Mayweather's body, though they had little impact. In the sixth and seventh rounds, Mayweather unleashed a barrage of punches against Gotti, who struggled to defend himself, further aggravating the fans in attendance.
