Man Accused of Stealing N1.88 Million Worth of Goods by Posing as a Priest and Using Fake Transfer

A man has been called out for allegedly tricking a store attendant into releasing goods valued at N1,880,000 to him.

He visited Royalline Technology, a phone and accessories store in Lekki Phase 1. He requested two iPhone 15 devices, but the attendant informed him they were currently out of stock and would be available soon.

Despite the attendant suggesting alternative phones with similar features, he insisted on purchasing the iPhone 15s, claiming to be a "Reverend Father" sent by his parish priest to acquire them. Eventually, he agreed to replace one iPhone with a Samsung S24 Ultra, which the attendant noted was available at their second store in Sangotedo.

He then offered to drive the attendant to the other store to pick up the phone and make a payment at a bank along the way.

According to the attendant, they entered a bank where he claimed he had initiated a transfer. When the attendant approached the bank cashier after not receiving a credit alert, she was told that the customer had mentioned he was expecting funds from another bank and that the money would be transferred to the store's account once his account was credited.
