Lagos State Government Approves New Private Schools

The Lagos State Government has officially granted approval to several new private school owners, marking a significant step toward enhancing educational quality in the region.

At a recent event held at the Education Resource Centre in Ikeja, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, presented provisional approval letters to the new school owners. He emphasized the government's commitment to educational development as a crucial element of the state’s progress.

Mr. Alli-Balogun praised Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his dedication to quality education, which is a fundamental part of the administration's T.H.E.M.E.S. PLUS Agenda. He stated, “This achievement reflects our promise to the people of Lagos to transform education for a brighter future for our children.” The Commissioner underscored the importance of education and technology as catalysts for social change.

Highlighting the role of private schools, Alli-Balogun acknowledged their contributions to the educational landscape in Lagos. He urged new school owners to maintain the integrity of their provisional approvals and warned that the government would enforce regulations to ensure high educational standards.

Mr. Remi Abdul, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, congratulated the private school owners on completing the approval process. He encouraged ongoing collaboration with the state to ensure that high-quality education is accessible to all children. Abdul noted that the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) conducted comprehensive inspections and organized seminars to align the new schools with state education policies.

This initiative is part of Lagos State's broader strategy to enhance educational outcomes and ensure that all children have access to quality learning environments.
