Lagos Minimum Wage Increased to N85,000

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced today that the minimum wage for Lagos has been set at N85,000, following discussions with labor unions.

In his statement, he emphasized that this decision is not a competition but rather reflects the state’s affordability and capacity to support its workers.

The increase aims to improve the living standards of employees in Lagos amid ongoing economic challenges.

The Governor stated :

"Iam glad to inform you that the
minimum wage for Lagos, which we have discussed with
our Union, is now N85,000 as of today. This is not a
competition; it is based on affordability and capacity."
