Kogi Governor Approves N72,500 Minimum Wage for Civil Servants

Usman Ododo, the governor of Kogi, has approved a minimum wage of N72,500 for civil servants in the state.

In July, President Bola Tinubu announced a new national minimum wage of N70,000 for workers across the country.

On Tuesday, Governor Ododo stated that this increase aims to help civil servants cope with ongoing economic challenges.

He also declared a one-year suspension of taxes on the newly approved minimum wage.

Ododo emphasized his administration's commitment to not only implementing the new minimum wage promptly but also ensuring its long-term sustainability.

He underscored the importance of ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the government and labor organizations to address any potential issues.

The governor reiterated the government's dedication to enhancing employee welfare and fostering a supportive working environment for all.
