Joint Task Force Troops Arrest Three Suspects with Cache of Weapons

Troops from Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe have apprehended three suspects found with a significant stockpile of weapons.

The suspects—Abel Festus, Ramsey Akporoyibo, and Stephen Omah—were arrested while traveling in a Lexus RX 350 (registration number YAB 347 CQ) in the Oghareki community of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State.

According to Major Emmanuel Onoja, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the operation uncovered five pump-action rifles, a Dane gun, a battle axe, and 51 cartridges.

"The suspects are now in custody for thorough interrogation and further investigation," Major Onoja confirmed.

This arrest is part of the Joint Task Force's ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security in the region, which has experienced an uptick in arms-related incidents. Authorities have not yet provided additional details regarding the suspects' plans for the weapons or any potential connections to criminal organizations.
